BOUTPORT STREET BARN CONVERSION
We’ve started work on another exciting conversion project, transforming an existing barn on Boutport Street into a new residential flat.
There’s already been plenty happening on site as we begin the structural phase:
▶ Front elevation taken down
▶ New block lintel replacement
▶ Existing first floor removed
▶ New footings dug for the extension
▶ Blockwork for the new extension now going up
It’s still early days, but this is going to be a great transformation to follow as we take the building from an old barn through to a completely finished home.
We’ll be sharing regular updates as the project progresses, so follow SSBC to watch the transformation take shape!

We’re approaching the finishing line on our loft conversion project!
The new Velux roof windows are in, the new roof is complete, and the external cladding and new window have all been installed.
Inside, the plastering is now finished and, once everything has dried, we’ll be moving on to the decorating and installing the new balustrade around the stair entrance.
It’s really starting to come together now, with just the final stages left to complete.

Great progress on our loft conversion project this week.
The new Velux roof windows have now been installed and the new slate roof is complete, helping to get the structure properly weather-tight. Inside, the room has been plasterboarded ready for plastering, while externally the new window is going in and the cladding has now started.

With the wet weather setting in, the focus has been on the inside this week.
All insulation is now in and passed by Building Control, with plasterboarding underway ready for skimming.

PILTON LOFT CONVERSION UPDATE
The new dormer timber frame is now complete, and work is moving on to the other side of the roof. We’re now stripping everything back ready to install new battens, roofing felt and slates, as well as fitting two new VELUX roof windows to bring plenty of natural light into the new loft space.
💙 Wondering why the photos look blue?
The new dormer structure is currently covered with blue tarpaulin to keep everything protected and watertight while the roofing work continues – which is giving the photos their blue tint!
Another big stage of this Barnstaple project taking shape. Keep following us to see the transformation continue. 👀

🎬 THE FINAL TRANSFORMATION!
Sit back and watch how we transformed the old Mole Valley offices – a building that had also previously been used as a youth club – from tired, dilapidated offices into three fantastic new flats.
From the initial strip-out and structural work through to new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, decorating, electrics, plumbing and the external transformation, this video shows the project from start to finish.
A huge amount of work has gone into completely giving this building a new lease of life – and we’re really pleased with the finished result.

THE DORMER IS STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE – PILTON, BARNSTAPLE!
We’re making great progress on our dormer loft conversion in Pilton, with the new timber frame now being constructed.
The framework is forming the new dormer structure and you can already begin to see just how much additional space this is going to create within the loft.
From stripping out the original conversion and opening up the roof, we’re now at the exciting stage where the shape of the new room is really starting to become visible.
👀 Keep following us as we continue with the build and bring this new loft space to life.
